Opening in 1898 as a small trolley park, Kennywood is an amusement park seeping with both traditional amusement park rides and family-friendly entertainment. Dedicated rides for younger children can be found in the Kiddieland section which opened in 1923 while the more adventurous will want to ride one of five roller coasters. Nestled in the rolling hills of southwest Pennsylvania, Kennywood is 12 miles southeast of Pittsburgh along the Monongahela River.
